Acapulco Nights 6/5/15, Memorial Tribute to Curtis Mayfield part 2

This week, I'm doing a second memorial tribute to the late Curtis Mayfield, in honor of what would have been his 73rd birthday. The American singer, guitarist, song writer, producer, record label owner, and activist, was one of the most influential artists in American funk and soul. In addition to his fame as a solo artist, and with his group The Impressions, he wrote and produced for many other artists, and ran the Curtom label. He was a major voice in the American civil rights movement, and penned theme songs to the black power movement. Studebaker Hawk plays some of his favorite songs Mayfield wrote and/or produced for others, and other artists covering his songs.
